William Baldwin born William Joseph Baldwin is an American actor, producer and a writer who showcases his multitude of talents in the world of films and television.

William  was born on February 21, 1963 in Massapequa, New York, US. He is 55 years old as of 2018.

William Baldwin Family

Baldwin was born in Massapequa, New York and is a son of Carol Newcomb (née Martineau) and Alexander Rae Baldwin, Jr. He is a member of the Baldwin family and the second-youngest of the Baldwin brothers who are all actors. He has five siblings that include three brothers and two sisters who are not performers.

William’s sisters are Elizabeth “Beth” Baldwin Keuchler, who was born in 1955, and is the oldest of the Baldwin siblings and Jane Ann Baldwin Sasso, who was born ten years later in 1965 and is the fifth-born. By birth and marriage, there is a total of six actors in the family.

William Baldwin Brothers

William has three brothers namely, Alec Baldwin, Stephen Baldwin and Daniel Baldwin. Alec is the oldest among the four brothers, born in 1958. He is a writer, producer, comedian and game show host. Daniel is the second Baldwin brother, born in 1960. He is also an actor, director, and producer. Stephen is the youngest, born in 1966, also an actor, producer and author.

Alec Baldwin is an older brother of William and the eldest among his brothers. William and Alec, were both very close friends of the late John Kennedy Jr.. Alec is the most popular one in the family also with a higher net worth than the others.

They both won $250,000 for charity on episodes of (Who wants to be a Millionaire) in separate celebrity contests. Alec won the prize on November 12, 2000 for the Performing Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) while William won his prize on November 26, 2001 for his charity.

William Baldwin Career

In the 1980s, he was a fashion model for Calvin Klein before starting his acting career. He had his first starring role in a TV movie, The Preppie Murder (1989), as Robert Chambers alongside Danny Aiello and Lara Flynn Boyle.

Baldwin also acted in the film Born on the Fourth of July with a minor role as a U.S Marine during the Vietnam War, with Tom Cruise being in the starring role in 1989. In the 1990 s, Baldwin’s first feature was in the film “Internal Affairs” alongside Richard Gere and Andy Garcia.

He also starred in big budget films such as Flat liners featuring stars like Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon.

In Backdraft, he portrayed Chicago firefighter Brian McCafferey together with Kurt Russell, with the ensemble cast including Donald Sutherland, Scott Glenn, Rebecca De Mornay and Robert De Niro.

In the film Sliver in 1993, his role along side Sharon Stone earned him the MTV Movie Award for most desirable Male.

In 1995, among other characters he has played in his career, he was on Joel Schumacher’s shortlist for Batman Forever to play the caped crusader. Schumacher’s four diverse choices were Daniel Day-Lewis, Ralph Fiennes, Val Kilmer and Baldwin. The role went to Val Kilmer. Baldwin starred alongside Cindy Crawford in Fair Game.

Then in 1996, he starred in a low-budget film by Miramax Films titled Curdled, and was paid US$150,000 for his performance compared to the $1.7 million he received for his role in Sliver, but his performance in the film was slightly acclaimed by critics.

In 1998, he appeared in Warren Beatty’s film Bulworth, as Constance Bulworth’s lover. In 1999, Baldwin teamed up with Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Sutherland for the science fiction thriller Virus, and alongside Peter Gallagher in the Showtime original movie, Brotherhood of Murder.

In early 2001, Baldwin played a leading role in the television film Double Bang aired on HBO. He has also featured in other plays such as Red Rover in 2003, Park, Feel and Lenexa, 1 Mile in 2006, and Adrift in Manhattan, A Plumm Summer, Noise, and Humble Pie in 2007.

He also portrayed the character of Dr. Willam van der Woodsen, the father of Serena and Eric van der Woodsen on the series Gossip Girl in 2010. He also featured in UniGlobe Entertainment’s breast cancer docudrama, together with his brother Daniel. The documentary was made by Namrata Singh Gujral, which featured the breast cancer survivors Olivia Newton-John, Diahann Carroll, Melissa Etheridge, Namrata Singh Gujral, Mumtaz, Jaclyn Smith, Daniel Baldwin and Priya Dutty.

In the second season of Parenthood, he was featured in the play “boss and love interest” for several episodes. Baldwin had joined Parenthood for a multi_episode, which include: arc that aired in the fall of 2010 as Gordon Flint, the “wealthy, charismatic” boss of Adam (Peter Krause), a bachelor who also has eyes for Adam’s sister Sarah (Lauren Graham).

On June 1, 2011, Baldwin starred in the indie film Sexy Evil Genius, alongside Seth Green, Harold Perrineau Jr., Katee Sackhoff and Michelle Trachtenberg. The film was directed by Shawn Piller. In July 2011, Baldwin joined the CBS drama Hawaii Five-0 for a multi-episode arc. On March 22, 2012, Baldwin guest starred on the NBC show 30 Rock. Baldwin plays Lance Drake Mandrell, an actor who plays Jack donaghy – the role played in the series by Baldwin’s real-life brother Alec – in a made-for-TV movie within the show.

Baldwin is currently a model for sacoor Brothers. Baldwin appeared in the fourth and final season of Wilfred, replacing Dwight yoakam in the role of Bruce. In 2015, he narrated for the documentary A Wing and a Prayer, a film about American fighter pilots who assisted in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War and the founding of the Israeli Air Force.
