in December 2007 Nair joined ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now. Vinita’s role was to anchor live coverage and news briefs for ABC’s digital network. From September 17, 2008, until February 18, 2011, Nair was co-anchor of World News Now and America This Morning on ABC. She partnered with Jeremy Hubbard and later Rob Nelson on both shows.
Nair announced that Friday, February 18, would be her last night on-air at World News Now on Thursday, February 17, 2011. It would also be her last day with ABC News. Peggy Bunker a former KDVR Denver anchor was her immediate successor.
The February 18 edition of World News Now paid tribute to Nair in each of its three segments, including appearances from current and former colleagues including Jeremy Hubbard. She treated the crew to a hot breakfast on her last day. Also, a brief send-off by Nelson to Nair was given at the conclusion of America This Morning.
Nair worked at MSNBC in New York in 2011, as a newsreader on Martin Bashir and anchoring the early morning news programs Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC.

According to Unclebarky.com.Former CBS anchor-reporter Vinita Nair after leaving CBS she will be heading to the KXAS the NBC station in Dallas, Texas this was reported by Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel on 11 December 2017.
Nair will serve as a special assignment reporter for the station on extended projects. Unclebarky said that the announcement was made on Wednesday 6th December 2017 afternoon to station staffers. Her first day at NBC5 is on January 29, 2017.
