Valerie Castro is a New York-based reporter who works for WLNY TV1055 and CBS New York.
Valerie Castro was born on 31st July 1980. She was raised in Colorado. Her mother is of Colombian heritage. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.
There she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Valerie Castro Married
She is the wife of Chris Mosher. Their wedding was in Colorado in a beautiful Rock Mountain ceremony. Instead of doing the traditional champagne toast at the wedding reception, they opted instead to toast with Aguardiente. A liquid which is Colombia’s national drink. This was a nice tribute to Castro’s mother’s lineage.
Valerie Castro Career
During her college years, Castro worked as an intern in New York at ABC News as part of their Primetime and 20/20 team.After graduating from university, Valerie moved to Farmington, New Mexico where she worked in the Four Corners region as a part of the KOB-TV team. She worked as a Backpack Journalist, carrying out all her duties by herself from carrying camera equipment to reporting, shooting video, anchoring and editing her own footage.
Castro then moved to Denver, Colorado and joined the KCNC-TV team. She joined them for a 5 year period between 2009 and 2014. There, she worked as a reporter and covered a lot of high profile bulletins. They included winter snowstorms, floods, and history-making wildfires. She also covered the Aurora Theatre Shooting extensively and even covered the court hearings that followed the shooting.
For her efforts and hard work, Valerie was awarded an Emmy award for Journalism. In 2015, she joined the CBS New York and WLNY TV1055 teams. She still works there to this day, covering breaking news bulletins on various events across the country and the globe. Valerie loves to stay active on social media and is always giving her followers regular updates on developing stories. Furthermore, she always informs them of any breaking news bulletins and current events.
