Tim Ezell Biography

Tim Ezell served as the comic relief at Fox 2 for 16 years and loved the opportunity to bring smiles to the people of St. Louis to start their day.

Tim left in 2014 to be a full-time pastor, then returned to St. Louis TV with a show called The Thread, which celebrates the amazing people of St. Louis, shining a bright light on all the great things they are doing in our city. The Thread airs Saturday mornings at 8:30 on Fox 2.

Tim is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and is a proud graduate of Louisiana State University. He graduated from Covenant Seminary in May 2017 with his Master of Divinity.

Fox 2’s Tim Ezell to Pastor Mehlville Area Church

Tim Ezell, an entertainment reporter for Fox 2 News’ morning show, is known for his witty words but will soon be known for his wisdom as he takes on a new journey as a pastor. Ezell is now the lead pastor of The Journey South County church in the Mehlville area. The church is located at Bernard Middle School, located at 1054 Forder Rd.

Ezell recently posted a video on YouTube, in which he explained his faith and being a pastor. The Journey is an inter-denominational church. Ezell’s first service at the new location will be Sept. 8.

Tim Ezell returning to FOX 2 News in the morning

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — He’s baaaAAAAaaack!! A beloved member of the FOX 2 family returns to FOX 2 News in the Morning! Tim Ezell returns as a feature reporter weekdays from 5 am to 9 am. Get ready St. Louis, he’ll be in your neighborhood, beginning Monday, October 22nd.

Tim will continue hosting “The Thread” which airs Saturdays at 8:30 am on FOX 2 and Sundays at 7 am on KPLR 11.

Watch out St. Louis the streets just got a little more fun in the morning!

‘The Thread’ with Tim Ezell, Virginia Kerr renewed for another year’s Thread’ with Tim Ezell, Virginia Kerr renewed for another year Fans of “The Thread,” a news magazine show featuring Tim Ezell and Virginia Kerr, will come back for a second season.

The 30-minute show, which made its debut in September 2016, will air at the same times — 8:30 a.m. Saturdays on KTVI (Channel 2) and shown again at 7 a.m. Sundays on KPLR (Channel 11). Ezell, formerly the linchpin on KTVI’s ratings-strong “AM Show,” left the station in July 2014 to become the full-time pastor at The Journey church in south St. Louis County. He stepped down as lead pastor earlier this year.

Kerr left KMOV (Channel 4) and its “Great Day St. Louis” show in December 2014. For a while, she worked at a religious radio station, KLJY-FM 99.1.

After more than four years gone, reporter Tim Ezell will reappear on morning television at KTVI (Channel 2).

Ezell will work 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekdays as a features reporter, starting Oct. 22

Formerly the linchpin on the station’s ratings-strong “AM Show,” Ezell left in July 2014 to become the full-time pastor at The Journey church in south St. Louis County. He stepped down in 2016.

Ezell will open the Spring 2019 MBU Media Talk series on Tuesday, March 26 at Missouri Baptist University. The free speaker series will take place in MBU’s Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center from noon to 1:00 p.m.

After working at Fox 2 News for 16 years where he served as the comic relief on News in the Morning, Ezell retired in 2014 to become a full-time pastor at the newest location of The Journey-St. Louis in South County.

Ezell recently re-joined the Fox 2 team resuming his original role as a feature reporter as well as now co-hosting the new Fox 2 show, “The Thread.”

“The Thread,” a Fox 2 show celebrating the people of St. Louis and all that they do in the community, airs Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

Dr. Amanda Staggenborg, assistant professor of public relations and instructional coordinator of undergraduate communications, is the founder and coordinator of the MBU Media Talk series.

For years, the talks have inspired communications students and offered a glimpse into the professional world by showcasing leaders in public relations, journalism, broadcast media, and strategic communications.

The addition of Ezell will highlight how to communicate within the church and how to communicate as a Christian outside of the church’s walls.

“Tim Ezell is inspirational and as a former pastor, displays compassion and kindness in every story he tells while showing the best of St. Louis,” said Staggenborg.

Each MBU Media Talk speaker is selected to represent various types of communication-related professions in St. Louis.

Previous MBU Media Talk speakers include Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson, KSDK news anchor Christina Coleman, St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bill McClellan and many more.

Tim’s Travels: Weekly sunrise yoga and evening boot camp classes at Kiener Plaza

ST. LOUIS – Tim Ezell was working on his flow and getting fit at Kiener Plaza!

The Free Sunrise Yoga takes place at 7:00 a.m. every Tuesday. Yoga Buzz instructors will lead a 45-minute rise and shine flow class to relaxing music.

Those looking for a more intense workout experience can attend hour-long boot camp sessions led by Heath Norton, owner of Title Boxing Club in Rock Hill.

The upbeat, sweat-inducing classes take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from May 1 through June 5, and again in September/October
