“When I left NBC15 in 2013, deep down, I always knew I would be back. My connection to the community is just too deep. I grew up in Janesville.
My wife is from the west side of Madison. Most of our family and friends live here. To have an opportunity to come back and be a part of The Morning Show again is something I just couldn’t pass up,” Elliott said.
“My goal is to provide our viewers the best news and entertainment programming in south-central Wisconsin. When you’re able to hire a tremendous journalist, storyteller, and anchor like Tim Elliott, and bring him back to the TV station he grew up watching, the decision is easy.
We are excited to have him back with our news family,” said Don Vesely, Vice President and General Manager of WMTV NBC15.
His return was announced Wednesday live on “The Morning Show.” Viewers will see him on-air later this month.
“Anyone who has lived in Madison or the surrounding area knows that this community is special, and it’s all because of the people who live here.
NBC15 viewers welcomed me into their homes with open arms once before and I was overwhelmed with love and support. I can’t wait to rekindle that relationship and be an active part of this community for years to come,” Elliott said.
Elliott is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
He has worked in the industry 11 years as an anchor, reporter, and producer at stations in Milwaukee, Louisville and Dothan, Alabama. Elliott is an award-winning journalist and was most recently recognized for his live reporting in 2017 by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
