Sierra Fox Bio

Sierra Fox is an American nightside reporter at WRIC 8 news, an ABC-affiliated television station serving Richmond, Virginia, United States. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, and Founding Sister of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority.

Fox was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2016, she graduated with a B.A in Communication Studies and two minors in Business Marketing and Management from Campbell University. She also played Division 1 lacrosse at the University in a team known as “Fighting Camels”.

Fox started her television career as an intern at WNCN in Raleigh. Later on, she became a Production Assistant at ABC 11 Eyewitness News in Raleigh and interned for Good Morning America in New York City.

Sierra Fox joined the WRIC 8News team in March 2018. Prior to that, she worked at WDVM as the lead bureau reporter in Winchester, Virginia.

After leaving her former station at WDVM, Sierra Fox joined the 8News team in March 2018.  She reports a wide variety of news items. As of 1 June 2019, has reported on abundant stories including ‘The First Ever GalaxyCon in RVA’.

As she reported, A three-day festival for fans of pop culture happened from May 31 to June 2, 2019, at Richmond Convention Center. It included celebrity meet-and-greets, Q&As, costume contests, parties, workshops, and video game tournaments.

Celebrities who were expected to attend included Peter Capaldi, Ralph Macchio, Alice Cooper, John Barrowman, John Wesley Shipp, Ernie Hudson, Barry Bostwick, Robert Hays, and Kristin Bauer. The festival told WRIC 8 news that they were expecting 15,000 attendees over the three-day span.

GalaxyCon is a 3 days event of fun which is more than a Comic Con. It involves Celebrity and Creative Guests from Comics, Movies, TV, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Anime, Cartoons, Video Games, Wrestling and more. People dress up in a costume or come as they are. Kids 9 & Under Get in FREE.
