The red-hot Chicago Cubs continue to deliver red-hot ratings. This past Saturday night, as the Cubs took on their crosstown rival Chicago White Sox, WLS-TV/ABC 7 gained average household ratings of 7.6 (approximately 266,000 homes in the Chicago market). Nielsen ratings also estimate that 377,000 adults ages 18 and over tuned in to WLS-TV. That makes this game the highest-rated Cubs broadcast on the 2015 season… so far. Additionally, for the Adults 25-54 demographic, WLS-TV pulled in a 3.5 rating, making that the highest for a Cubs game seen on local television by that demo this season. If the Cubs continue their winning ways, expect more of these record rating reports from the three primary Chicago stations that broadcast Cubs games locally.

Chicago media veteran Rich Koz — a close, personal friend of WCIU-TV/The U and Me-TV’s Svengoolie — will be hosting a special charity event on Thursday called “Bowling for Rhinos.” This is the 25th annual bowling event that raises money to help stop rhinoceros poaching and save at least five species of rhinos. “Bowling for Rhinos” is a joint event between the Lincoln Park Zoo and Brookfield Zoo chapters of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. Along with Rich Koz, longtime professional wrestler “Rhyno” will be in attendance. Although all of the bowling spots have been filled up, sponsorship opportunities remain and fans can still come to the event to watch and participate in the raffles. “Bowling for Rhinos” will take place Thursday starting at 6:30 pm at Diversey River Bowl (2211 W. Diversey Avenue, Chicago).
