Rachel Hollis born on January 9, 1983, is an American author, motivational speaker and blogger for a website called The Chic Site. Since its release in February 2018, her self-help book Girl, Wash Your Face, has maintained a spot in the top 10 best-selling books in the country for seven months, held the top spot for 12 of those weeks and has sold more than 880,000 total copies in the United States. The book was the second-most popular book of 2018 on Amazon.com.

Early Life

Her grandparents were Okies who picked cotton to support their six children. Hollis moved to Los Angeles, after graduating high school,where an obsession with Matt Damon led her to apply for (and get) a job at Miramax. While at Los Angeles, she met her husband and founded an event-planning company, Chic Events, which became “wildly successful.”

Her social media breakthrough moment came in March 2015, when an Instagram photo of her celebrating her stretch marks went viral. “I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it.
