Veteran actress Nancy Allen has cancelled her appearance at HorrorHound Weekend.
“Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law.” – Robocop
An Unfortunate Turn of Events
Yesterday, it was announced on HorrorHound Weekend’s Facebook page that veteran actress, Nancy Allen had to cancel her appearance. Her Robocop colleague, Peter Weller also had to back out due to work considerations.
It is HHW’s hope to book the duo again for a future event. A consistent presence in the Robocop franchise, Ms. Allen has also appeared in other sci-fi and horror fare throughout the years. She has also been a muse for director Brian DePalma starring in several of his features including Carrie, Dressed to Kill and Blow Out.
Allen is also very popular in the horror genre with her turns in Strange Invaders, The Philadelphia Experiment, Poltergeist III, The Outer Limits, and Children of the Corn 666: Isaac’s Return. So, for fans that booked ops with her, HHW assures that there will be automatic refunds this week.
Sometimes cancellations like this occur at specialized venues due to unforeseen circumstances. However, there will be plenty to see and do. There are a decent number of panels to attend plus vendors to check out. In addition, there will be contests, Mask Fest and Film Festivals to attend.
Plenty to See and Do
If you are into IMAX, good news! Several of the horror features will be screened in the theater with filmmakers and cast attending. Some of the after-hours events will be fun like The Night Terrors Costume Ball Contest as well as a Kids Costume Contest too.
New guests have been added to HHW. Check their Facebook page for announcements daily. Also, monitor their main website for changes to the schedules. The event runs from August 24 through August 26 at the JW Marriot in downtown Indianapolis.
