Kelsea Ballerini ( Kelsea Nicole Ballerini ) is an American country pop singer and songwriter. In 2015, Ballerini released her first album The First Time and on November 3, 2017, her second album Unapologetically was released. Ballerini received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Her two albums have accounted for seven charted songs on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.
Kelsea Ballerini has four No. 1 singles on the latter, starting with her debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It”, which made her the first female artist to send a debut single to the top of that chart since Carrie Underwood did so in 2006. It was followed by “Dibs” and “Peter Pan”, whose peaks also made Ballerini the first female country artist to send her first three singles to the top of that chart since Wynonna Judd. Her fourth No. 1 single is “Legends”.

2014-2016: Self-titled EP and The First Time
Kelsea Ballerini signed a deal with Black River Entertainment at the age of 19. She released her debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It” in late 2014, which debuted on the Country Airplay chart in October 2014. In November, Ballerini released a self-titled extended play for the label. In 2014, she was named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country. Ballerini performed for the first time on February 14, 2015 at the Grand Ole Opry and sang “Love Me Like You Mean It”. Her debut album The First Time was released on May 19, 2015, through Black River. For the chart dated July 4, 2015, “Love Me Like You Mean It” , the album’s first single, reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making her the first solo female country music artist to score a number one hit with her debut single since in 2006, Carrie Underwood did so with “Jesus, Take the Wheel”, and only the eleventh in history to achieve the feat. She also became only the fifth solo female country music artist to score back-to-back number one hits with her first two singles when “Dibs”, the second single from the album, reached the top of the Country Airplay chart. Ballerini became the first to do it since Jamie O’Neal in 2001.
On March 21, 2016, the album’s third single, “Peter Pan”, was released to country radio. in September “Peter Pan” reached number one on both the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts, making Ballerini the first solo female country music artist to top both country music charts simultaneously. This achievement also made Ballerini the first solo female to send her first three singles to number one since Wynonna Judd accomplished the same feat in 1992. On October 10, 2016, the album’s fourth single, “Yeah Boy”, was released to country radio.
2017-present: Unapologetically and coaching The Voice
Kelsea Ballerini was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 – Music list at number two in early 2017. In 2017, She received two Academy of Country Music Award nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Peter Pan” Ballerini released “Legends” as the first single from her second studio album in June 2017. She released her second album, titled Unapologetically on November 3. On the Billboad Top Country Album Chart, the album debuted at number three and number seven on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, making it her highest charting album on both charts. in March, the second single from the album, “I Hate Love Songs”, was released. Ballerini announced in September 2018, that she would be releasing a deluxe edition of the album with four new tracks. EDM-pop duo The Chainsmokers released a song titled “This Feeling” featuring Ballerini on September 18, 2018. In the fall of 2018, she joined the fifteenth season of The Voice as the fifth coach. Ballerini coaches six contestants who did not get a chair turn during The Blinds, in a new round called The Comeback Stage. The Comeback Stage is a digital companion series to the show. The third and final single “Miss Me More” from Unapologetically, was released in October 2018. She also provided vocals on husband Morgan Evans’ song “Dance With Me” in October.
