According to a report published on the 30th of May, 2018, by media critic Robert Feder, Kathy would be leaving ABC7 after spending 28 years working there. She explained her decision to her coworkers in a note, which read, “I want to explore other passions and discover what life is like off the night shift.” On June 12, 2018, Cheryl Burton, who currently hosts the 5 pm and 7 pm shows and contributes to the 10 pm show, was selected to take over for Brock as the host of the 10 pm show. Judy Hsu, who formerly anchored at 11 am and 4 pm, will now also report at 6 pm.
