JuYeon packed all she could fit into her tiny Jetta and set off to West Texas from the Windy City. She joined the KMID/KPEJ family as a Reporter/MMJ in late October 2018.
Her journey as an aspiring journalist began in high school when she attended a journalism summer camp at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She later went onto graduate from UIUC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Communications.
This May 2018 graduate was involved with multiple student media platforms in college.
She kicked-off her career as a Panelist and Production Technician for a political, entertainment, and local talkshow SeeYou Weekly, earned her title as the Assistant Video Editor at the independent student newspaper The Daily Illini, served as On-Air Personality for Champaign’s Alternative WPGU 107.1, and honed her reporting skills during her involvement with student news UI7 Newsbreak and UI7 News.
When she is not working, you can find JuYeon checking out local restaurants and boutiques, spending time with family and friends, catching up on her favorite shows, or traveling somewhere across the world!
Her love for traveling has only continued to grow since her “life-changing” study abroad experience in Barcelona, Spain. She has been to 21 countries, and she does not plan to stop there.
