Celebrity plastic surgery nightmares: ‘I died for a minute’ on the table
Source; usatoday.com
A recent investigation by USA TODAY and the Naples Daily News has found a plastic surgery clinic in Miami and a nearby facility overseen by the same doctor lost eight patients over the past six years, a spate of casualties not seen anywhere else in Florida.
But the dangers of plastic surgery are not confined to the factory-like surgery center in Miami. For years, A-listers and wannabe A-listers have doled out thousands of dollars for top-notch surgeries, and some have suffered dangerous consequences as a result.
In recent years, stars like Sharon Osbourne, Heidi Montag and Yolanda Hadid have become vocal about the lengths they went to with their cosmetic procedures and the ramifications of their plastic surgeries.
Here are some of the most memorable celebrity plastic surgery horror stories:
Montag
When Montag went under the knife, she didn’t just get one procedure done. “The Hills” star had 10 procedures in one day in 2010, including neck liposuction, a mini brow lift, a nose job revision, a chin reduction, getting her ears pinned back, a second breast augmentation, fat injections in her cheeks, liposuction on her waist, hips and inner thighs, botox in her forehead and a buttock augmentation.
The breast augmentation upped her cup size to an F, but she has since had her implants taken out in 2014, reducing her breast size to C-cups.
“I couldn’t conceptualize the weight of them in my body,” she told Us Weekly. “They felt like bowling balls on my chest. I felt inappropriate. Guys would stare at me really creepily and felt they had the right to because I had such big boobs.”
She said she was told her breasts “were falling through the bottom, and I got scared. It’s super dangerous. They can fall through to your belly button!”
She also opened up about the complications from the surgery, telling Paper Magazine in 2018 that she nearly lost her life in surgery.
“I died for a minute. With that much surgery, I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn’t want to leave my side. I was at a recovery center and had Demerol to deal with the pain because it was so extreme. My security guards called Spencer and told him, ‘Heidi’s heart stopped. She’s not going to make it.’ And I easily could’ve. Cutting yourself up isn’t something I’d recommend…”
