Guy Pelham Benson is an American columnist, commentator, and political pundit. He is a contributor to Fox News, political editor of Townhall.com, and a conservative talk radio host. In 2015 he co-authored End of Discussion an updated edition of which was published by Random House in 2017. His voice is also familiar on the nationally syndicated Hugh Hewitt radio show — which he regularly guest hosts — and contributes to NPR’s All Things Considered.

Benson attended middle school in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and Ridgewood High School. When he was in high school he was known for broadcasting sports on local television. While he was trying to earn himself a bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University, he worked for the campus radio station, WNUR, broadcasting sporting events and hosting a political talk show.

Benson discovered a video from a 2007 reunion of the Weathermen in April 2008, a radical left-wing group from the 1960s and 1970s. The footage included quotes from two members, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, defending their actions.
From when Obama was criticized 8 presidential campaign for associating with Ayers and Dohrn, the clips made national news, from the Boston Globe to Fox News. Benson garnered national attention during the 2008 presidential race on two other occasions.
