Ford Carson is an American journalist, reporting for WFXR. He is known for being the first intern in RCP history to serve as an official White House press pool reporter. Pitched story ideas, conducted research and interviews, reported and wrote news, contributed to social media, edited podcasts using Adobe Premiere and Audition.

In college, Ford spent summers in Washington, D.C. at C-SPAN, where he became the first intern to voice a promo aired on television, and at RealClearPolitics, where he became the first intern to serve as an official White House press pool reporter. Highlights at RealClear include covering President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement from the Press chairs in the Rose Garden and interviewing over a dozen US Senators in the hallways of the Capitol.

The first intern in C-SPAN history to have a promo aired on television. Assisted with developing and maintaining the daily schedule, tracking House and Senate proceedings, and coordinating video and graphics for final programming that airs on C-SPAN. Shadowed many different departments within C-SPAN, became skilled in Aquarius and Dalet software systems, and assisted with script writing and voice-overs.

Served as Voice of God, official event announcer, for W&L’s 26th Mock Convention, a quadrennial tradition in which student delegates predict the presidential nominee of the political party currently out of the White House. Have served as public address announcer for multiple varsity track meets, basketball tournaments, and freshman orientation events.

Responsible for all sports programming at W&L, including athletic broadcasts and sports talk shows. Duties include conducting interviews with players and coaches, assisting with media coverage of all varsity sports, and selecting assistant sports commentators.
