“Is this right?” Chris asked then Treasury spox Tony Sayegh. “Was the first question Tapper asked the secretary about the special counsel?”

“That is correct,” Sayegh replied.

“As much as I hate the expression ‘fake news’ — this is a perfect example of it — especially on the week the country gets a massive overhaul of the tax code,” Wallace said.

Former Trump aide Hope Hicks and another White House aide are copied on the email, per the Hollywood Reporter.

Chris Wallace Kellyanne Conway

Chris  pushed back against White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s claims that Donald Trump had done nothing wrong in his interactions with Ukraine–pointing out that multiple top officials, who were appointed by the president’s administration, had asserted that there was a “quid pro quo” involved with his pressure campaign against the eastern European nation.

Kellyanne Conway a white House counselor faced a heated interview with FOX News Channel’s Chris Wallace Sunday morning November 3 2019, facing a barrage of questions about the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

“The full House did not vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry. Just Democrats did,” Conway noted at the top of the interview. “This is not as Nancy Pelosi promised it would be — overwhelmingly bipartisan.”

We’ve seen different people going up there and testifying,” Conway said. “What we haven’t seen is the fullness of the eight or 10 hours each of them has spent testifying… I guess Adam Schiff’s growing mushrooms in the dark in his secret process, which is unfortunate because you cannot put that toothpaste back in the tube. You can not cure what has been a flawed process from the beginning.”

“Top foreign policy officials to this president have all testified about repeated instances where they saw the support for Ukraine dependent on Ukraine investigating the Bidens,” Wallace asked. “Isn’t that the definition of a quid pro quo?”

“The fact is Ukraine has that aid, they’re using that aid as we sit here,” Conway replied.

“You’re missing the point,” Wallace protested. “The aid was withheld until–”

Conway cut in to state: “The Ukranian president says he has no idea the aid was withheld.”
