Candice Kelly Biography
Candice Kelly is an American award-winning news anchor, reporter, and producer. She has been working for WBRE-TV’s Eyewitness News team since July 2004 up to date. She can be seen on the channel anchoring Eyewitness News weekday evenings at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 pm.
Candice Kelly Early Life
Candice started her career right after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication. She got it from Minnesota State University located in Mankato, a city in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties in the US state of Minnesota.
Candice Kelly Family
At the time, Candice resides in the Luzerne County, the second-largest county in Pennsylvania. She is married to Nick Toma, a fellow journalist at WBRE. Together, the couple has two daughters named Grace and Chloe. The family is proud to call Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania home.
Candice Kelly Career
Candice Kelly started off her career back in 1998 as an assignment desk and production assistant. At the time, she worked at KARE 11, an NBC affiliate in Golden Valley, a city in the Hennepin county of the US state of Minnesota. After working there for 1 year and 9 months, she moved to KTTC-TV in January 2000. She worked there as a news anchor, reporter, and producer. She covered stories based in Rochester, a city in southern Minnesota. After about 4 and a half years spent working for the channel, she left in July 2004.
Almost immediately after leaving KTTC, she joined WBRE-TV as a news anchor and reporter. Although sometimes she does some work for WYOU-TV on the side. She was based in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania area. She has been working there ever since. In addition to journalism and media, Candice is active in many causes in her community. Some of these causes are fundraisers while others are like the Children’s Miracle Network Weekend Celebration. For fundraisers, she helps in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital among others. In addition, she also works with several non-profit organizations to bring many benefits to community members. Along with all her other roles, she sits on the board of directors of the Earthly Angels Autism Fund of the Luzerne Foundation.
Candice Kelly’s Awards & Recognitions
Candice is a 3-time regional Emmy award-winning journalist. In addition to her regional Emmy awards, she has also won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy. This was for Best Evening Newscast along with her fellow Eyewitness News evening team.
