Bob Brooks Biography
Bob Brooks (Bobby Brooks) is an American journalist. Brooks joined the NBC 6 news team in July 2013. He’s new to South Florida, new to the south in general. He has spent the majority of his life living north of the Mason-Dixon Line in southwest Pennsylvania. Bobby received national recognition in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program for a report on the potential impact Marcellus Shale gas drilling could have on central Pennsylvania’s world-class trout fishing.
He’s also a proud alum of Penn State’s award-winning student-run newscast The Centre County Report. While in college Bobby also had a chance to intern at CBS News in New York City with the show 48 hours Mystery.
However, Bobby is thrilled at the opportunity to come here and work with an outstanding staff at NBC 6. He’s even more honored to share the many stories of those living in South Florida. as well.

Bob Brooks joined the 6abc Action News team in July 2016. Before arriving in Philadelphia, he worked at WTVJ in Miami, Florida.
Bob is originally from the Pittsburgh area and is thrilled to be back in Pennsylvania. Prior to his time in the Sunshine State, Bob worked as an anchor and reporter at WETM-TV in Elmira, N.Y.
