Ziemba and her husband, Mark, are the proud parents of two children: 7-year-old Maren and 3-year-old Simon, who happens to be a special needs warrior and cancer survivor. It was their son’s diagnoses that spawned their advocacy for children with special needs and those fighting pediatric cancers. Autumn serves on the committee for Autism Speaks and is active with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and St. Baldrick’s Foundation. She is a volunteer with A Special Wish, which supports local families battling pediatric cancer. She and her family are also proud fundraising ambassadors for Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital and have helped to raise money for the hospital’s new sensory room.

When she’s not losing her mind as a stay-at-home mom during the week, Autumn loves to get outdoors and shoot still photography, enjoy the Cleveland lakefront and take in a local comedy show.

Autumn has always had a soft spot for animals. She and her family share their home with two shelter cats, Goose and Fig. They hope to add a service dog to the mix soon!

Simon Strong: Autumn Ziemba and family mark one year since leukemia diagnosis

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Autumn Ziemba and her family are celebrating a miracle.

They’re getting ready to celebrate Christmas at home as a family one year after her son’s cancer diagnosis. Simon is now in remission.

2-year-old Simon was diagnosed with b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in December of last year. Autumn and her family shared their story on Fox 8 News Sunday morning. You can hear from them by watching the video clips.
