In 2002, Aubrey Plaza graduated from Ursuline Academy, an all-girls Catholic school and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2006. She was student council president in high school and participated in productions with the Wilmington Drama League. In 2004, during her second year of college, Plaza suffered a stroke that caused temporary paralysis and expressive aphasia. She has now fully recovered.

Aubrey Plaza has had many internships, and worked as an NBC page. Since 2004, she has performed improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Plaza also performed stand-up and has appeared at the Laugh Factory and The Improv. Plaza starred in the online series The Jeannie Tate Show and starred as Robin Gibney in ESPN’s Mayne Street. Plaza appeared in the first episode of “Terrible Decisions with Ben Schwartz” on Funny or Die.

In 2009’s Funny People, Plaza played Seth Rogen’s love interest, Daisy, directed by Judd Apatow. Plaza appeared in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Derrick Comedy’s Mystery Team, which debuted at 2009 Sundance. She appeared alongside Jason Bateman and Will Arnett in a CollegeHumor short.

From 2009 to 2015, she played April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation. For her performance as the deadpan employee, Plaza received universal praise throughout the entire show, being referred to as one of the show’s breakout characters.

Plaza performed on March 12, 2010, at “A Night of 140 Tweets: A Celebrity Tweetathon for Haiti”, produced by Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Ben Stiller, and Mike Rosenstein, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. I have good news, people. @LGUSAMobile went above and beyond their promise to donate $1 for every RT on Twitter and is giving the FULL $200K in #LGG7ThinQ phones & service to help the recovery in #PuertoRico. LG is sending me there next week to hand over the phones to @Hispanic_Federation, spend time with the people of Puerto Rico, and see our work in action. This means a lot to me, so keep an eye out here and on @LGUSAMobile’s Insta on 8/27. #WhatsItGonnaTake #Ad
