With Ian Roberts and Matt Besser, she got a regular gig on the popular show ‘Late Night with Conan O’ Brien’. They began the Comedy Central with half-hour sketch comedies in 1988. She took aboard the ‘Saturday Night Live’ crew in the 2001-2002 season and soon after she started gaining popularity and was promoted to a full cast member in the first season itself.
She then got featured appeared in the film, ‘Mean Girls’, playing the role of the mother of Rachel McAdams, who in reality, is only a few years younger to Poehler herself in 2004. She as well co-anchored ‘Weekend Update’ with her friend, Tina Fey as from 2004 to 2005. After Fey leaving the show, She co-hosted the show along with Seth Meyers.
