Amber Philpott is an American news anchor for WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. She anchors the stations newscasts at 5:30, 6:00 and 11 pm. She was born on November 20th 1980 in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

After graduation, she was hired as morning anchor for WKYT’s sister station WYMT-TV in Hazard, Kentucky. After working for a year and a half at WYMT, she was promoted to her current position at WKYT. 2009, She was awarded the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters award for Best TV News Anchor. In 2010, she finished in second place for the Best TV News Anchor award.

When she worked at WYMT she was given the opportunity to become the 11 p.m anchor and reporter at WYKT. She has part of several award-winning newscasts. She was nominated for a regional Emmy. 2013 she was named best news anchor in Kentucky by the Associated Press.

She was living her lifelong dream she is committed to her community. She has worked with many organizations in and around the Lexington area. The  American Diabetes Association and Girls on the Run. She is a 10-year board member of the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross and has helped them raised thousands of dollars serving as Chair for their annual Disaster Blaster event for five years.

Philpott is committed to giving back to women and she does this through her role on the board for Chrysalis House. It helps women recover from drugs and alcohol.
