Castro joined the News 6 group in November 2015. She was elevated to End of the week Morning Anchor in April 2016. 90 days after graduation, Amanda moved to the “Melody and Soul of the South” to report and secure for the NBC partner in Macon, Georgia, WMGT.
She worked there for quite a long time and covered numerous significant stories about the local area, remembering the political conflict between Gordon and the questionable Macon cop including the shooting.
