Tye was in charge of informing the coordinating platoons that their leaders had died as a result of their injuries. He was also responsible for consolidating the platoons and rallying them to cooperate with his squad to fend off the approaching enemy.
His acts over the course of several days prevented death and injury, enabling a safe and successful mission, shown loyalty and respect for his Army comrades, and assisted in the Strong Eagle Campaign. His actions also contributed to the success of the Strong Eagle Campaign. He reminded his fellow service members that “change isn’t a quick cure,” and that instead, “we are building toward the end state, leaving it a bit better for the next unit.”
