She joined KCAL 9 in 2019 weather anchor. Previously Alex was part of the KEYT NewsChannel 3 team ffrom July 2017 as a multimedia journalist and weather anchor. She has also worked as a weather forecaster, anchor and reporter at KTVZ NewsChannel 21 in Bend, Oregon.

Biston spent two years covering major weather events from historic snowfall to record breaking heat. She was also a part of team coverage for the Umpqua Community College shooting in 2015, the occupation of the Malhuer National Wildlife Refuge, numerous wildfire that affected Central Oregon and the 2017 Presidential election.

Biston is originally from Thousand Oaks and graduated from Westlake High School, so being back in California was a homecoming. She graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Television and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Public Relations. Currently, she is pursuing a certification in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Also before joining NewsChannel 21, Biston was a reporter and producer for the award-winning local access channel Hawthorne Community Television in South Los Angeles. “I am so thrilled to start my career here at NewsChannel 21 and I look forward to making Central Oregon my home!”
